Just like the thread topic states, how do I trouble shoot the MAF? I recently changed the stepper motor and the truck still runs like crud at idle.... :ack: I'm trying to pinpoint the problem and I think it may be that the MAF went bad, but how can I tell without throwing money at it?

i believe that there are voltage specifications that you can test your MAF against in the RAVE... but honestly the "easiest" way to do it is to just swap it out :( Sorry that doesn't answer the "how can i tell with out throwing money at it"... but when i was chasing my uneven idle problem... after changing: air filter, plugs, plug wires, one coil pack, checking ALL hoses and vacuum lines, gas, gas additives, serpentine belt, oil and cleaning fuel injectors, cleaning the MAF element... in the end... swapping out the MAF is what solved the problem.

do you have a K&N filter?
