That is very popular in the UK. I just wonder how feasible it is in the US and what are the legal issues... if any. The other question is where do you fill up with LPG?

I used to work for a mountaineering guiding company that converted a fleet of Ford 15-passenger vans to propane. They had it done by a specialist in Vancouver BC. With the number of miles the company put on the vans the cost of the conversion paid off in a fairly short time, I think less than two years. I drove those vans and couldn't tell much of a performance difference between the two fuels. They had an auto switchover system with a manual override. You start the engine on gasoline, it runs for five minutes or so, then automatically changes to LPG.

You can fill up at any propane retailer, they are not as common as gas stations but if you do the conversion you learn where they are.
