I'm the original owner of a 96. I've had all the common issues you've heard about. For the last couple of years I've been driving with the ABS fuse pulled. I've grown accustomed to the amber light.

Even before the ABS issues began, my dash board began twisting up at the windshield. Now that I live in Florida, the dash has really become one huge potato chip to the extent that the shroud for the instrument pod has popped loose.

:D Oh happy day ! Now I just reached in and plucked out that god-foresaken Anti-lock bulb !

Just thought I'd share..

You didn't have to wait until the dash curled, though. Getting to the back of the instrument panel is easy. Just unscrew the two screws in front that holds the cover in place, pop it off, then unscrew the instrumend cluster and slide it out. 10 minute job, tops...... Probably don't even have to take the cluster out to get to the bulbs once the cover is off, but I usually do
