Before I post a wanted ad for a ujointed rear shaft, I wanted to know if I would need anything other than a complete shaft to change to a ujoint? I am trying to switch from a rotoflex to a ujoint, and wanted to possibly buy a used rear shaft with ujoint, college is keeping the budget real low! Thank-you for any help! 94 Disco w/3"lift :)

you will need to change the pinion flange to a four bolt.

There was a recent thread about the rotoflex/u joint swap that may be helpful. good luck If you have to buy new call GBR he did me right.

Thank-you for the responses, so I need to take out the three bolt pinion flange, and put in a four bolt? I actually found a few rear shafts in salvage yards, would the four bolt pinion flange from a stock ujoint shaft have to come out with the shaft? Thank-you!

I replaced my rotoflex with a ujoint about a year ago -- find yourself a really sturdy slide hammer, and you shouldn't have a problem..

Thank you for the help, is a four bolt pinion flange difficult to remove since I will probably buy from a salvage yard, and remove it myself? I totally forgot about the tech article about converting to ujoint! (thanks Robbie!) Thanks again! also, is it possible to use a ujoint shaft from a Range Rover in a Disco?
