For those of you who have sliders and additional skid plates, what brands are you using and where are you getting them from?

I was thinking about getting another Rover to mess around with, but now I am thinking I might just put some money in the LR3 to do some basic mods. Its a daily driver (I guess that's obvious) so I am not going to lift it and put some big tires on it. However I am thinking about skid plates and sliders. I want to maintain the stock look as much as possible. I dont know if I will go so far as to put an ARB bumper (or similar), as I dont know if I will need it.

Any recommendations or suggestions?

On my '07 LR3 I have the following:

1) Rover Specialties rock sliders - well worth the cost - saved me more than once.
2) GoodYear Wrangler MTR's 275/65/18 - side walls can take a beating with now issues.
3) Warn 9.5 winch with LR front protection plate
4) Rasta 4x4 skid plates (2)
5) Looking for front and rear bumper - haven't seen anything that I like at this point.

Some advice, if you go off roading, watch the rear plastic bumper - it can easily get damaged/destroyed...

How do you manage off-road on those tyres without a suspension lift?

Back to the OP's question, I've fitted:

1. GOE air compressor protection plate + transmission plate
2. GOE rock-sliders + stand-off bars
3. GOE two-position EAS height sensor rods
4. Maxxis Bighorn LT275/65R18 tyres

That's for an RRS - on my D3 I also had a front bash plate.

Cheers,

Gordon

Thanks for the replies...very helpful. What are the GOE sliders? Where do you find them? I am familiar with Rasta and Rover Specialties. I have done a google search for GOE but the results always come up for GEO and Tracker...LOL.

Thanks again!

I have the Asfir4x4 skids plates: front, transmission and rear diff. They've worked well and fit great.

Another good choice would be Tactical Rovers for skid plates and sliders.
