So today I go to close my upper tailgate, and the rubber gasket thing falls off the bottom. I look at it, and apparently all that's holding it on is rust.
I think it's time to splurge on a replacement, before I end up with an "upper" and a "tailgate."
Thing is, around here, I don't really want to put in another stock steel one, only to have it rust out again. I see a few aluminium ones around, especially one for $400 on the RN website. They all seem to be identical to the original in design, but won't rust.
Anyone have any experience with these? Are they better or worse than the steel? Any particular brands that are better than others? And what parts change over?
Now just to figure out how to reattach the gasket so it's not hanging down like a riced out '87 Civic.
