Hey everyone, this will be my first trip. Was wondering about the trails. I'm hoping that they aren't too mushy from all the rain! I wanted to get some rock sliders before the trip, but wasn't able to. Are there trails I shouldn't attempt without them? I am running an LR3 with 32" ATs and will be putting Johnson rods on when I get there.

You'll be fine on 50-60% of the trails maybe even more. No rain in the forecast so trails should be dry. LR3's are stupid capable off road even stock. Just pick a good line and you won't need sliders.

What days are everyone heading up? I can't leave (from Atlanta) until Friday, but plan on getting started early.

Me and Mkcolli may drive through the night on Thursday to make it to the Daniel trailhead by 6am. We're leaving from Atlanta. No traffic at midnight!

That would make for a really long day! I'm not looking forward to having to get up at 5am to make it there. Hopefully, there won't be a repeat of Safari on Thursday night. where we leave camp at 8pm for a quick night ride and don't make it back to camp until 4:30am because of trail carnage.

I know some people are leaving today, I'm planning to leave late morning tomorrow. The event does not officially kick off until Friday. But people will arrive any time between Wed and Saturday.

One thing to keep in mind is that Saturday there is also a major 4x4 event at Uwaharrie called the Uwharrie Jamboree. So plan on very heavy traffic on the trails and roads all day Saturday. It should be cleared up by night though so there should still be good night riding Saturday night.

Yeah, gonna have to pack the red bull for this one. Still waiting to hear back from Joel about there being a spot for us or not. Hopefully the campground's not too crowded Thurs night. We'll probably get in around 5 and dump the truck/trailer at the campground to hold a spot, then drive the Disco to the trailhead. Hopefully we can do that quietly...

It used to not be an issue in the old days. But early Thursday arrival has gotten more popular the last few years. So good trailer spots are getting harder to find.

I'm not planning to setup up a big camp and will probably get most of my meals at the outpost this year. So I just need to find a flat spot to park the trailer so I can put my tent up on it.

I hate that I wont be attending this year, but I will be down there on Sunday showing my buddy around. He just put 35's on his JK and has never done any real wheeling.

Im going to try and stop by the group campsite and say hi to people before everyone leaves.

I just found out there is a Suzuki event at Uwharrie this weekend too! Couple that with the Jamboree and Im pretty sure the park will be at capacity.
