Use of RTV with oil pan gasket?

Hello,
When installing the oil pan with a new cork gasket, should the surfaces be coated with some RTV such as Permatex Ultra Blue?

On my oil pan I usually smear it with grease then bring it to the proper torque. Be very careful with RTV. When you bring it to torque, sometimes, it can "squish" out and form little balls. If those balls, break loose, they can get sucked up by the oil pump and can potentially cause considerable damage to the engine, especially the rod and main bearings. Or even worse, make a clog in an oil gallery.
