Total cheapness would be to go to a local shop ( roberts Oxygen or whatever ) and rent a tank, then go and find some cheap ass regulator.. Hell, I think that you can pick up all that at the local shop probably...

If you are really going to do that I would get the Powertank regulator and then get the bottle from Roberts Oxy or where ever.. Least that way you get a good regulator.. Getting the rental bottle will keep you from having to get the Power Tank or others that you buy tested every 5 years. Down side though is the rental bottles look like crap most of the time.

Having said that... I have a 10# Powertank setup.. Some times you just got to go with the good looking pimp stuff..

You're right. My problem is, I always get the cheap stuff first, then want the good stuff shortly thereafter. I need to get out of this habit.

you can go to a bigger welding shop and ask if they "rent" tanks. a lot of the time, they will let rent one for c02 and put down $100 deposit on the tank that you will turn in after you run out, pay 15 - 20 bucks and they give you a new one. all the fittings and hoses can be purchased at your local Ace hardware (home depot is hit and miss and no one will help you). i think my tank cost me about 150 to put together. it aint pretty, but it puts air in my 33s just the same.

wow man, so you're spending money twice for the same thing.. ouch.. even a CB setup is going to cost you 100 - 200 bucks depending.. If you're not going to stick with it then ya man, get the quality up front and just buy it once. Hell, the PT-10 setup with a tank boot was only $311 to my door so it wasn't that much more then the money your going to shell out..

ya, but, he's saying that he ussually buys the cheap stuff then replaces it.. So really it's more like 150 + how ever much more he spends on a Powertank, Quickair, or trailair later.

E.N. just for the record, ive been using my CB tank for over a year with out any trouble. (and yes, i wheel a lot) they are the same parts, i just put it together myself instead of paying for something pimp. pimp is good and all that, but the post was looking for CB... and by god, i am cheap-attack #1.

Hey, that's fine and I told him how to do it cheap.. Go to Roberts Oxygen ( there should be one in Richmond, VA ) and get all the parts and use their tanks.. I don't even think their deposit cost that much either. I just said that I went the pimp route.. He said that he ends up going cheap and then buying the good stuff later.. I said why spend twice the money and just get the good stuff first.. It's one thing to be cheap but, it's another to just throw money away on some thing cheap that you aren't going to keep... You know.

I got it from a guy named Randy in one of the local mixed clubs who has his own store. I was waiting for my crappy portable air compressor to pump up my tires when one of the guys I was with came over and told me that he sold them.. I had gotten my RE12000 winch from him before for a pretty good price so I called him about the tank.. He is in Hagerstown, MD or Fredrick, MD one of those two which is some what local to me.. He has a website but, he doesn't really have anything on it so you would have to call and ask him what he has and what it will cost cause I don't think he even really messes with his site very much..

Website is http://www.adventurous4x4.com/ has the phone number on it to contact him. Not sure if he gave me a deal cause I have wheeled with him a few times or what.. He's a pretty good guy though. This was over a year ago so I don't even know what he's going to charge or if he carries them still.. Can't hurt to call though I guess..
