Can I use my full size spare on my Daily driver for a couple days? My Spare is brand new and the others have 15K on them. What problems would this cause?

Thanks

Are they the same size tire???? I mean you're not going to try to run a stock tire under a vehicle that's on 33's or something crazy like that are you?

Not smart to run different diameter tires on a solid axle truck. If it's the same size, then it should be fine. If you have larger tires, then your spare should always be the same size.

It's funny how many jeeps I see in Colo running 33+'s with skinny ass stock size spare hanging on back.... I always wondered what would happen if they had to throw that spare on..... I once saw a fully stock Sahara running 33" super-wide Boggers,,,I'm talking running boards man,,,weak. Had about 1 mm of clearance between the tire & fender,,,He was rubbing like crazy & sounding like a tank comin' at ya. Sporting stock size spare AT on back. What a dumb ass,,,,,

Ya, I think they all jump on that 4 tire and 4 rim deal in the magazines and don't want to pay extra for the spares. See that all the time here too.. Of course when you watch them go by you can't help but to notice that perfect black ( not a spec of dirt ) undercoating.. Saw a Jeep rolling by on 35s with that little stock donut on the back .. Looked real freakin dumb too..

Shouldnt cause any problems. Might want to throw it on the back though so the fronts have similar wear if there is a big difference.

Reminds me

All these posts of jeeps reminds me of my hometown. I can't remember where I found the poster but I think it fits some of what I see around here.

Difference in tread pattern?

This could be a retarded question, but one of my XPCs just died and my spare is a different brand but the same size. Seeing as how I can't find anywhere that still sells the XPC and my other tires are fine, would the difference in the tread pattern cause any problems if used for several thousand miles till my other tires need to get replaced?

Good one Dan.

Can't find the receipt right now but a local tire shop had a statement on their receipt (when we bought two tires) about running tires of different diameters on an all wheel drive vehicle. I think the warning was if tires were over 3/32" in diameter different potential damage could occur. They put the new tires on the rear.

Do all wheel drive vehicles always come with full size spare?

on a slightly more serious note... can you fit a 265.75.16 on the back of a D2 without having to modify to make fit?

you don't have to modify it, just pull of that panel on the back door, and flip the spare tire mount upside down. Otherwise, I put 245 75 16 mud tire on my spare mount without flipping it upside down, and I don't think you could make it any larger.
