Very quick question that I'm sure everyone but me knows the answer to:

It's hard to get a socket on there w/ the wrench, too, the exhaust is in the way. An open-ended wrench works better. 1-1/8".

I use one of those large adjustable wrenches. A cheap one at that. sometimes I get the plug on too tight and I have to hit the wrench one or two times with a hammer to get the bolt loose.

What socket do I need to remove the oil drain plug on a D1??

Thanks

Try a 13mm or 14mm (it might be a 12mm but I think that is for the idler pulley). It should come off with one of those.

Afraid that is a bit too small, use a 1 1/8" open end, works every time. So I think that is closer to 27mm.

29 mm

I changed my oil yesterday and used a 29mm open ended wrench. Fit like a glove (and not one from the OJ trial).
