Hi
I bought an 01 DII that came from Vienna Va, owners last name was Campbell. Trying to put together and build some service history. If anyone can help please PM me. Truck came from a dealer who didn't have any records. Found something with the last owners name in it, that's it. Could really use some help with this. First 100k in Richmond rest was in Vienna Va
Specs
01 kent green DII with ace. Has 130k on it currently.
Please pm if you can help.
Cheers

Looking for someone who knows the truck, trying to find service history on the engine. Being Kent Green in color really narrows it down. Very few around in that color.

Might be a long shot but why not ping the dealers in that area and ask to check the VIN.

Thanks,
I did all that and they told me some stuff. Looks like the truck was sold at auction in 2010 and was sold in 2011. This is when the engine was redone, probably by an Independent because no dealer has any information in it after 99k.
Thank for the advice.

Ideally you would want that info before you bought the truck. At this point I would give up on trying to find the history of the service, and go through the truck and replace all the fluids and filters. That way you know whats in it, and how long its been in there.

A discovery sold at auction and you bought it? Thats like fucking a hooker without a rubber.

It was sold by a dealer with no records of maintenance or repairs?

You said you don't have any records but the engine was 'redone' after auction?

Best thing to do is try to find that Campbell. Hopefully he's not like the one armed man that really killed dr. Richard kimble's wife.

With no records and being an auction vehicle it probably needed a repair that the owner didn't want to do and turned it over to the repair facility. The repair facility didn't want to eat the repair to make it sellable.

What are your concerns with the truck? How many miles have you put on it? Does it make funny noises? Did you take a black light to the interior for blood or semen samples?

No black light yet but that's next.

I bought it from a dealer who was recommended to me. Truck runs great and am happy with it. It looks like someone rebuilt the engine so it's fine I was just hoping someone here may have had it to provide details that's all. Looks like it was well taken care of and has zero rust.

I took a chance buying one with no real records. Looks like all the basic services were done up to 99k at the dealer so that's good, 130k now.
Was just curious to what was done to the engine. No big deal. I'll just start doing all the necessary engine maintenance now and start fresh.

It was cheap enough that it's not a big deal.
Thanks for all the advice.
And yes like all my LRs have done it makes a bunch of weird noises. Luckily the ace pump is just loud enough that I don't hear any of them!

Trust me it will be fine you are not buying a Rolls Royce. This is a very simple engine to service. I bought a 99 DII with over 169K and the only issue I have had was the three amigos. It did not come with a service history I just wished that people would not buy into the dealership bs you will have more problems with a Tahoe or Explorer. Just change the oil make sure it does not have that orange Dex Cool crap in the coolant and you will be fine.

What is this TopGear? Are you serious? Did you forget the boogers under the steering wheel? Whatever! No reason to give him anymore anxiety!

I'm fine with the truck..not my first LR that's for sure. Was simply trying to find out if anyone here knew its history, for no other reason than to know when the heads were done. As it works out I did find the dealer that sold it and did the engine work back in 2011. Was done at 119k now has 130k. Thanks for all the good advice.
