Howdy, I'm a long time lurker but new to registering here...I have always loved the Disco and am looking to finally get one of my own
So, I have a 95 Integra as my second car and willing to trade for a 96+ (maybe 95) Disco in good running/driving condition and good physical shape (no rust, nice paint, etc). I'm not looking to make it an offroad rig, so stock / mostly unmodified is great. Also, a few minor/common electric or interior glitches (dash curl, power locks, cracked leather) is fine...I'm more interested in one where the drivetrain/engine trouble spots have been addressed and runs well, should do well this winter.
Here's the specs:
1995 Acura Integra GSR sedan
White with grey interior
145K miles, 5 speed
Runs and drives well - across New England or around town.
Stock with no typical 'street racing' modifications except for a brand new cat-back exhaust from the previous owner.
----
Pros:
+Fairly new Pirelli snow tires just in time for the winter.
+Mechanically in great shape (it's a Honda), and easy to work on, find cheap parts, get information, etc.
+FAST B18 GSR motor
+New exhaust
+New brakes all around, new rear caliper, new distributor
+Everything works perfectly (sunroof, windows, locks, air conditioning, heat, radio, lights, etc)
+Integrated in dash OEM cell phone which works (with your Verizon account)
Cons:
-A few small nicks around the car, a warped bumper cover up front and dent in the front passenger fender.
- Small spots of rust discoloration on the driver side rear wheelwell (no holes, underneath the car and other places are fine)
- Seat covers are on the front seats, as all seats are pretty much torn up. The previous owners' dog really liked to eat leather seats. It technically has grey leather, but only the rear seat-back is in tact.
- power antenna doesn't automatically go up/down.
- OEM 6 disc changer sometimes plays, sometimes doesn't.
- could use a new clutch in the future, but is still fine as it is.
- previous owner removed the silver 'Acura' and 'A' emblems from the front and back
I would get 'new' seats and fenders for a couple hundred bucks and fix it myself before selling, but I figure it's a car which someone might put racing seats and a body kit on anyway. So, if you don't mind seat covers and a dent, or can replace them yourself you'll have a perfect car...it's a Honda so not much to worry about, really.
I'll get some photos tomorrow and post them up here. It sounds worse than it really is, I'm sure.
I'm in Burlington, Vermont, so anyone within a couple hours of here in New York, New Hampshire, Mass., Maine, etc..? Of course, a midwestern/southern Disco would be much better with no corrosion...maybe plan to head to Vermont this upcoming holiday for some skiing? Or maybe someone on here from RN is interested?
If I don't trade it here for a good DI, I'll sell it and use the cash to get one locally (a 95 in nice shape). Just curious before selling it outright if anyone here in LR-land might want some quick and fun Japanese reliability to add to their automobile stable
