What it says...

I'm looking for a solid 5spd Disco. Body Damage and interior issues are not a concern, as all that worthless stuff will hit ebay! What I do want is:

- Numbers matching, because I'm anal.
- Clean no rust frame
- good axle-dif-T-case...no junk.
- driveable condition NOW, not with "a little TLC"

Again, the cosmetics are not an issue. I will pay a little extra for clean, only because I can get some dough back on the clean parts.

Thanks!

I have a 96, 5 speed Grey with OME MD springs and shocks, diffguards, skid plate, NWP stainless exhaust, ARB bumper, etc, that I might trade for an auto Disco in similar shape...

I've got a customer with one. She's bringing over tomorrow for a service. I'll take some pix and more info, but this much I know: 97 black-new brush guard, bumper, air dam, bonnet, wing and lamps on the front. Great runner and the repairs were well done. I've fixed a number of small oil leaks-oil cooler hoses, front main- and regular maintanence stuff..
Is this what you had in mind?

Stock and cheap. Must run, shift, t-box good, no trans/dif/t-box moaning or groaning. I want the guts. I will be taking it apart so the emphasis is on cheap, and ugly is ok.

Thanks!

Got what you're looking for.
96 D1, manual gearbox, 160k miles, red
Purchased with around 140k in Utah nearly 2 years ago, and drove it back to NJ.
Been my daily commute ever since.
Done some work on it, to keep it running fine: breaks, shocks etc but you don't care :)

Let's see how much is in your wallet :)

utah.. whats the 100" hybrid project?

Right now? A growing pile of parts looking for a D1 5 speed frame to roost on, and a mess of literature in the bathroom.

I have this plan in my head. D1 5 speed guts with a Series 2/2a/3 body. Done in a period style. Carbed with limited electronics. Result will be something with a little more space than a series, with more power, better brakes and coils, but with the feel of an older Rover. A "what if LR built the Series today" kind of thing.

A 100" Defender without the cheap plastic bits.
