Search... I believe I posted up plans for DII sliders a few years back.

There is more to a set of sliders than just welding... To do it "correct" you'll need to get them rolled.

Half of fabrication is drawing up your own ideas in your head and having at it. I'd go crazy if I had the same exact sliders, bumpers, etc. as every other Rover.
Stare at your Rover and some pictures of others and decide what you think would work best and look good to you and have at it.

Like mentioned, the main piece of the slider will need to be rolled to match the body line.

Here's my Rover, maybe you'll get some ideas on what you want to do with yours.

Thanks for the input. Ryan - The clean look of your bumpers is exactly what I'm after.

Keep in mind I have no welding experience but access to piles of steel. My forte is electrical. I expect my first x attempts to look like turds. As for sliders... rolled = ?

Look at the shape of the bottom of the doors...it is actually a curve instead of straight like most vehicles.

Ah... thanks for the clarification. I noticed the shape. Wife actually once commented that she thought we bent the truck out on the trail.

I am interested in seting up my own sliders also. I have never had a chance to look at a rig up close that has them. My question is where do they attach to the frame? Anyone willing to post a pic of the underside?
Also curious about the airbag effectiveness with the aftermarket bumpers. Do you attach to the stock bumper mounts or directly to the frame rail and just hope the bumper crumbles upon impact to detonate the air bags. I had considered making a 2pc setup. A bumper that is linked to the airbag triggered mounts and a brush grill guard mounted to the frame.

Most companies that make them in production do not attach them to the frame. Typically, they will sandwich the rocker panel. If you remove the plastic push-pins (or whatever they are called) in the rocker panel and remove it, you will see that it is a hollow box. Slider mounts to the front, bolts through to a plate on the backside. Some companies make their sliders with U-shaped mounts that slides up on the rocker and then you bolt it together.
