Water Leak from front interior light

So driving to work this morning I noticed several drops of water (almost a small stream of water) from the front interior light (the one above the rear view mirror).

I was wondering if this might be a sunroof leak or a front window leak issue.

I have an '03 Disco so my plan is to turn this into the LR dealership to fix under warranty but curious what might have caused this.

Thanks...

I had the same leak on my '98. Mine was from the dealer installed cell phone antenna. Whatever the cause, find it quick. My leak filled the sunroof ECU and ruined it.

My 99 D1 did that when I took it for a test drive. They took it apart and found a popsickle stick jammed in there. In the process of putting things back together they screwed the headliner right through the driver's side drain tube. It didn't leak at first but after a little while it became more and more noticable. I finally just took out the tube matched it at the home depot and replaced, it has been fine ever since. The rave cd/manual has a diagram of the sunroof assembly.

I have an '01 Disco that is not my daily driver. I had it parked on my driveway facing up the incline. After about 2 days of rain I drove it and had the same thing happen. I took it to the dealer and they shot it with a high pressure washer eveywhere they could think of that water would get in. They were never able to make it leak again. To this day it has yet to do it again. Even with all the rains we have had here. I thought maybe I was crazy or it was just a fluke, so I am glad to hear it really does happen. Good luck with it and let me know how the dealer fixes yours.

D2 sun visor leak

the leak you guys are talking could also come from the top of the windshield if not properly sealed--that was the case with my D2 after I had it replaced--just seal it with some water resistant glue or compound.

my 03 disco leaked where the pillars meet the roof, 3 times they tried to fix it , didnt work, the dealer outsourced the winsheild repair to someone else, the 2nd time they 'fixed' it there was caulk jammed up under the headliner and then leaked the next day anyway, they fixed it again and replaced the headliner and then the other side leaked.

under NJ lemon law I got the car replaced with an '04. they never got it right and it was never going to be right.

My '97 did the same thing, but leaked out of the visors. it was a clogged sunroof drain.

First I thought my problem could have been coming from the windshield (because of the gap between the glass and the rubber like a 1/4 inch) , so I aplied some water resistant glue to it, but still leaked the same as before, so mine has to be the sunroof

My 04 leaked and still does. The first leak came from the alpine windows (this was correctly fixed under warranty). They were not sealed correctly from the factory and water leaked through and ran all the way to the front of the car leaking down the A pillars and through the holes where the visors are located. I have a new leak which can probably be attributed to the sunroof drains being clogged because I by accident left them cracked while I was parked under a tree notorious for dropping leaves etc.

Best of luck

I had a similar problem with my 96. Once it was that the water did not drain away from the sunroof, another time it was a leak from where the roof rack connected to the roof.

I have noticed that the sunroofs have no rear drain tubes. I believe if you park it nose enough there is no way to compleatly prevent the sunroofs from leaking. If the rear of the rail is below the drain tubes its going to leak. It seems in needs to be parked level or nose down only. I know most cars/trucks have 4 drain tubes one in each corner so it can drain.
