Water Pump Advice

I am going to be replacing a leaky Water Pump on my 99 D-2.
Any words of wisdom or advice on this repair? Seems straight forward but I thought I would be better off asking.
What type of coolant should I use when I refill the system?
Should I use some of that "blue goo" in addition to the gasket I ordered?
Any advice is appreciatted.

Thanks

Use the same pink coolant the factory recommends to prevent head gasket problems. Use a little blue goo and don't forget to bleed the air out of the engine when you're done.

Thanks!

To bleed the air I think I am supposed to refill the system then run with the radiator cap off until the thermostat kicks to allow air out. Is that correct?

NO GOO.

Make sure to buy the genuine rubber empregnated gasket and a genuine water pump.

Aftermarket do not last and they blow up.
