Water pump or Belt tensioner going bad?

So I was poking around in my 95 disco with 118k and after I did and oil change I started it up. Intermittenly I heard this werid sound. Sounded like someone had marbles in they're mouth. I figure its a bearing..but which one? Water pump isnt leaking, truck isnt heating up, could it be the tensioner bearing? Any suggestions?

you're just going to have to get under the hood and isolate it. put a mechanic stethoscope, or long screw driver on each ancilliary (water pump, tensioner, p/s pump, a/c pump, alternator) and see where the noise is coming from. My p/s pump started just like that before it went out. But my water pump just gave up without any warning.
