Weird Surging Problem

Ok, this is what started happening now, when I am driving the truck if I press the accelerator slowly the truck drives ok, but as soon as I press it more(half way or all the way) to catch up with traffic or w/e it looses all power and seems like its bogging down(perhaps I can hear popping from the intake), as soon as I release the pedal, i can coast at like 1500 RPM no problem.
I washed my engine yesterday, I am thinking TPS??? I tried swapping with another one i had, no idea if its any good, and it seems to be a little better but still does the same. IF I put it in neutral and rev the engine, I can rev all the way to redline and it runs beautiful.

Are there cheaper alternatives to the OEM TPS?

I had a similar problem that happened to me on the interstate from time to time, it lasted for about a year, it used to scare the crap out of me.

I learned to drive around it and believe it of not it eventually went away.

It was like the engine would instantly die if the accelerator pedal was pushed to a certain point. There was a dead zone, if I went passed it it was fine, below was fine.

I did take the TPS apart and cleaned everything. I think the body of the TPS was loose and the shaft was slipping out of the notch occasionally. I put everything back properly and the problem has not come back.

Knock on wood.

The car ran perfect a few days ago. It is not the cats as they are fairly new, and the car idles and revs amazingly well. The only time there is a problem is when it is in gear.

If ANYONE HAS A TPS FOR SALE LET ME KNOW!
YOU MUST BE SURE IT IS IN WORKING ORDER AND FROM AN 1990-1994 RRC.
