Decided I'd need a fan and the heater for the winter so the dash had to come apart.

Wondering how far to go. There would probably be a lot of hate if I was to swap a black D2 dash and console into her. ;) it may happen....

Not sure the fan issue still - odd. If I have to rewire the whole thing I will, hope not though.

The d1 dash and d2 dash are almost identical.

I like the idea of using the black '04 dash and console just to be very different. I did set it in place in there (i have it out hanging on the wall and the airbag is removed - more room that way) it looked good. Maybe the black d2 seats too...

Oh and I just posted it here to see what fellow disco lovers would think as I know RRC fans will have an aneurism over such modifications. Ha ha!

I agree the dash is a love and hate relationship. The old school dash is cool and funky... Kinda like that cool funky quirky chick we all know.... Fun at first and kinda wild for a while then her quirks just get old and you want something that functions better on a daily basis. Ha ha. :)

I have to dig deeper into the dash anyway so we will see how things go.

I like it with the D2 dash, it fits really close surprisingly.

I would like to know how that works out... My D1 dash has a little curve to it and I would love to fix it. Would be interesting to see a DII dash in a classic.

I'm having thoughts of gutting the HVAC out and using the D2 donor with climate control.... Maybe too ambitious but i am having a hell of a time getting the heater and AC wire sorted. She doesn't want to work right.

The D2 dash fits well after some trimming of the defroster channel (it will need to be modified anyway) only thing is the steering wheel/controls are kind of right to the dash. Not horrible, but I'm considering stealing the tilt wheel/steering wheel/controls from the D2. Hmmm....

Also keep eyeing the seats from the black D2.... Weld some brackets and they would go. ;)

I'm not hurting anything and nothing has been modified to the actual truck. Yet.

I'll certainly not do anything that can't be "easily" turned back to original.

No Im not going to put the whole D2 BCU etc in her.

Im actually leaning towards putting it back to stock to be 100% honest. We'll see.
