I have a '97 XD and my subs have developed a death-buzz. What are the good choices for replacements. I know any 6.5" speaker will fit. I am just wondering if anyone has gotten great results from a particular model.

Damn Emiril...BAM! and thats how you replace the sub

Definitely like the setup, especially the magnetic knife attachment.

Parts Express part #290-270 Pyramid WX65 6-1/2" Clear Poly Woofer. Cost for 2 was $28.00 shipped. Cheap and quick. You need to figure out how to fit the amp in because the OEM screws into the back of the 2 woofers.

Its a 9 or 10 year old Solo baric (back when they were round) with a 6 or 7 year old Rockford Fosgate 350 W amp. The box is intended to go under the rear seat of an extended cab 1998 Z71, but the slope happens to still alow room for my bike!

Solo Baric is an extremely good product. I have rocked out for about 7.5 years with that one in two different vehicles and it still sounds great.

Built this box to hold an 8" sub. Added a 125-150 watt amp and it sounds great. Sprayed it with some texture and painted it to match the door panel. I also put some small expanded metal screen over woofer to keep the dogs foot out.
Since these pics I switch the kicker for a nicer MTX.
I found that hooking up the polarity backwards sounds alot better.

Check out CDT Audio's M6, they are made for the infinite baffle of a Disco's door. Sound quailty is amazing. Testing by an audio magazine had them out-performing most 8" subs and there is no mods needed just drop them in.
