In the process of rebuilding my 75 RRC I have checked out , looked at and pondered on what front and rear bumper for the RRC I should use.

I am going to mount my winch (Warn 8000) in between the frame horns and the coil pack will be tucked in the engine compartment.

My thoughts are:

1) Original front bumper (front) in black with a fairlee
2) Standard ARB front (no winch)
3) RT tubular front
4) For the rear no clues

I like the RT but I do not think it will look good on a RRC

Any thoughts , comments or suggestions would be appreciated..

Thanks

I have a Scorpion Racing bumper that would work on your Range Rover. It's got a winch mount on it but it is far more discrete than an ARB. Great approach angle too.

This is one of the best looking bumpers for an early RRC IMO. I have an '81 that really wants one. a friend bought Denny's and I missed the last one that came up. Just keep looking I guess. :D

I am not a fan of the tube style bumper on an RRC and the ARB is really big. If weight is not an issue, then the RTE is a great bumper very stought and Steve and the guys there are very helpful and personable.

As for the rear since my rrc didn't have a reciever hitch, I went with the ARB rear bumper, with intergrated reciever. Its kinda big, ie it stciks out a bit to the rear and to the sides, it has been known to scrape coming off objects. see attached picts.

[hijack] What do you want for it Paul? [\hijack]

I'll post photos once I can get away from the computer and get to the shop.

Mike,
I have an '85 RRC for about 7 years. It was a 5 speed and I installed a 4.0 in it as well. I had front and rear ARB bumpers on the truck. I don't know if I would be so quick to install a rear AEB on an NAS truck what with having to cut of the ends of the frame horns and the receiver. It was handy to use as a step for loading up the roof rack though.

Paul,
My 81 had no stock reciever hitch, I did not have to cut anything to put it on, which was part of the reason I really liked the design. (and it was cheap on e-bay) :D

Dave has a point about the GD bumper if you can find the winch version bumper, as the design is great and its aluminium which alleviates the weight issue.

MY FAVORITE HANDS DOWN. Its made for a D1 but it fits perfect on a RRC and is tough as nails. Its also made for a warn (a superwinch didnt fit in mine) so its perfect. The SR swivel recovery points are expense but it has the holes already for it and they too are SUPER strong. Add a couple hi lift mounts, additional frame support, awesome approach angles, and 6mm (1/4) steel (vs 3/16 arb). No brainer.

Here are some photos of the Scorpion Racing bumper I have on hand. I am preparing to shoot the bumper with some rustoleum to cover the rust. I used scotch brite to scuff up the finish a little/ In the background is a RTE bumper that I recenly sold. In terms of strength and mounting, to my ill informed eye, it appears every bit as solid.

Hey bud, how you doing? I just picked up a 95 rrc to mod as well. I think we're all a little sick.

Cheers!
