It is in S. Central Oregon. They have had record rain fall, some of the areas were completely flooded, and we got in there between large storms. The California guys are still on the trail, they ran into snow and fallen logs yesterday. The Series III broke down and had to be towed 100 miles. It was one of the best trips I've been on.
Note, the series of photos with my son down in the hole, then the narrow cliff walls -- that is called Crack in the Ground. I only walked down about 200 yards. The walls are only about 5-10 feet apart and they range in height from 30 to 60 feet or more. It was one of the most facinating places I've ever been -- and it stretches for several miles! On the second or third in that series you can see nothing but green walls... unless you look closely in the center, you can see people down there to give you some scale.
I'll be posting some panoramas in a day or two.
