I barely made it out of High School and I had a pretty good job. Had to work like hell once I got my foot in the door though to make it to where I was.. I started out filing and photo copying sales forms. It's all about being given a chance and then working hard to prove that you deserved that chance..

Sad thing about todays day and age though is that no one wants to give folks chances anymore.. How do you get experience at some thing if no one will let you do it? Seems that folks would rather have someone that got fired instead of someone that they could train.

In high school, I was a Professional Packaging Technician.....I worked at Kroger.

In highschool and a while after I was a Petroleum Distribution Specialist. I was also an inventory manager, sanitation engineer, and a cash broker as well...

Ya in other words, I was a gas station cashier at a Mobil. I had some other side jobs too but, well, uhm, I won't go there.

I'm a Facilities Engineer for one of my companies California oil fields. I mostly look at the computer screen, unless I'm in the field looking at pumping units and pipe - woohoo!

Import/Export/Manufacturing. I import kids motorsports products from China. I recently acquired 50% holdings in our Chinese factory. In my Memphis warehouse, on any given day, we have stocked 1000 kids ATVs, 1000 pocket bikes, and several hunder electric powered ride on ATVs. I see THIS computer screen about 15 hours a day from selling to chatting with the factory in China.

And several times a week I lurk on this board because my brain must have empty spaces to fill with knowledge.

Oh yeah....I'm a Memphis Firefighter too!

[/QUOTE]Well alright! Hook me up Mel! LOL. Melissa wins so far!
Adrian I wish it was that easy. Somedays I think I work for the cigar mafie with the way they guard their beloveds. They're stingy so hand outs are rarely given out. Now, if you want to talk about the domestic side of things thats a different story. Hope you like those Phillies Titans or Swisher Sweets bc./ I can come bearing gifts
for the camp out!!! LOL :D

My main job is that of a Los Angeles City Fireman but at least two days a week I stay home and take care of my kids. I ruptured a disc in my back last year and was off duty for 7 months. I am back to full duty now but my back is far from being 100%. I will have to start thinking of the future and maybe make a career change which I hate to think of. I have been a fireman/paramedic for the last 16 years and love the job and the rush of fighting fire. Give me some idea's of a new career. Here is a shot of a fire I wen to a few months ago. There is kind of a funny story that goes with it.
I was on the fire attack team and took a hose line to the front door. Laying on the front porch blocking the door was a man burned almost beyond recognition. Since this dude was dead my priority was to get inside and knock down the fire. I grabbed this guys leg and started to drag him away from the door so I could kick it in. The next thing I know I am flat on my ass with a leg in my hands that is no longer attached to a body. Upon closer exam I realized I was holding a prosthetic limb. Apperantly this guy was a diabetic and lost his leg from that. Sad but funny if you were there. The guy decided to commit suicide and sat on the front porch doused himself with gas and torched himself. What a way to go. Anyway here is a pic of the fire.

I didn't know chicks dig planes that crash alot, learn something new everyday.

Yeah, but I'll bet the line of chickies at NAS Miramar and Oceana O Clubs are a HELL of a lot prettier than the one's outside the O Club at Groton.

You tell me ladies, what looks cooler. Flight suit and flight helmet wearer, or the dude in the blue coveralls and ball cap. :D

Hell, I think I would rather die in in a crash than have to wear those damn coveralls.

:D

sweet fire kellymoe. Funny story too in that dark fire/ems way. Have you looked in becoming a flight medic?

Believe it or not there is not a huge call for flight medics in the Southern California area. Hospitals are soo close to each other that flights are usualy reserved for kids going to pediatric trauma centers. I may look into Physicians Assitant school. But I would love to find something outdoors. I was a raft guide for a few years before becoming a FF and have also been a profesional ski patroller for the last 15 years. Those jobs dont pay much but they sure are fun :D

I was going to be a porn star. Then I discovered strong alchohol and became a systems engineer for a network hardware vendor.
