Hell with that... Revolution or all out civil war.. Republicans vs the Democrats winner takes all... Should be a quick fight too since most of the Dems are against guns.. I say we start in a horse shoe shape from the east, south, and west and drive them into Minnesota... Well let them have that and just put a guarded gate around it so they can't get out..

Why Minnesota? That's my home state and all my family lives there. Why not just drive them all the way into Canada, or Mexico for that matter?

Hello all! I would like to "chime in" on this point, @ this critical moment in U.S. history. First, all must realize the LACK of real power that any President has, and how the "checks & balances" of our country work. Bush has been trying to get us some new, not-so-liberal supreme court justices, correct? But his selections have been/are being filibustered to keep them from getting an up or down vote. Kerry's party does not want to see honest, well qualified people in the Supreme Court of the United States. They do not want people who are concerned for LIFE! They want business-as-usual liberals that will keep passing their agendas no questions asked. They stand as "tree huggers" for the enviorment, the rights of little animals, and the Missouri Snaildarter, which lives abundant in our local streams, although, they say it's endangered and post fines up to $5000.00 for EACH OCCURANCE of driving your vehicle in the creek. The crazy part is, that creek will dry up before you recieve the sentence for the "CRIME" (yes, it's a "criminal" act) and I see not one of those liberal dems out here adding water to the dried-up hole! Are they really worried about the snaildarter, or about the fines thay could collect? BTW, thank you, Missouri Democratic Party/Governors/Wife of dead governor/& 1 term "BOB" for bringing us such a ridiculous law disquised as a "clean water act" at the same time endorsing multi-engined, oily bilge pumping offshore powerboats at the Lake of the Orarks. And to the treehuggers, I hope you realize that you wont be able to hug that tree anymore, due to the damage caused by the oils in your skin. But @ least they will plan to build a 2.4 million dollar visitors center, w/a telescope, so you can look at the spot where you used to hug that tree. VOTE BUSH! Thank You, LRW.

Sorry for the long post, but I had to vent.........Thank You....Thank You very much!....if we give the Dems enough time and power, they will drive all of us into the eternal pit of HELL, blaming the Republicans all the way! I vote we should let them go on their own, but count me out of their policies, as I believe in LIFE. Thank You, LRW.

So Kerry declares that he wants us to be independant of Middle East Oil within 5 years.

How is this to happen when Demo's won't allow more drilling in Alaska or off the California Coast.

Kerry's answer, Bio Fuel, we'll be filling our gas tanks by shoveling the dog shit off our lawns.

I don't think kerry thinks at all, at least not beyond the moment! I hope all can see that he just says what he is told to say, the things the people want to hear. Isn't this the same stand taken by the dems for the last 8 or 10 elections? Why can't most dems see that? Do thay think we forget so quickly? By no means do I adore the Republican administrations of the past or present, but I do believe that the dems have a path picked out that won't give us the "prosperity" they keep talking about. For a few, maybe, but not for all. (sounds kinda Republican, huh) I would like to know why gas is always more expensive during a Republican term, though. Thank You, LRW.

You know it is precisely this attitude that creates the stalemates in partisian politics. Even though you may be joking, it is a fact that Americans view parties as enemies this creates much of the political tension between the parties and leads to nothing good. We are as big of a joke as Bush and Kerry.

Ummm....you mean like the Republicans did with Clinton's appointees?
I don't care who you like/dislike, but the tactics you describe are not used by just one party. And both parties cry, "Oh, the in justice!" when the other party does it, but soon as they are the ones that pull the strings, they turn around and do exactly the same thing.

It's all just a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Oh, I wasn't joking...

The sad thing is that with all the other seats up for grabs this year if Kerry wins then the Dems will also most likely end up with the majority in the house and senate. Which has been even more cut throat then the Pres elections. They just haven't been getting as much publicity.. So there will be most likely no balancing out as some have stated.

I guess we will find out three or four months from now though once all the lawsuits are done who is the winner.. Since we all know there isn't going to be a winner tomorrow unless it's a landside towards one side.

The upside of course to a Kerry victory is no Hillary in 08 (right?).

We all know that it's going to be John Edwards in 08. Hell's already said it on some TV show that he was on a few months ago when he was asked about it..

Oh, there will be a winner tomorrow, just wait and see.

If the American people believe that the "other party" is the enemy, this will be reflected by those who they place in office. Afterall the politicians really do want people to believe they are "fighting thier battle". This is what causes the things that you refer to as being out-of-balance. IMO, of course. Shit we're all Americans, we're supposed to work together eh? WTF do people really give a shit whether or not we have a Dem or Rep in office as long as he gets the job done? I don't for sure. I just want someone that will stand up for our values, treasure the environment and lead us into fiscal responsibility (of course it is more complex than that).

Calling the kettle black is BS, which is what both are doing BTW, partially because that is what we do. When they do it, it makes us feel good that they are reinforcing *our* opinion.

Bri - "When they do it, it makes us feel good that they are reinforcing *our* opinion"

There is no "opinion" that Kerry has that I want reinforced. Unlike you I do care who is in office as it will and can effect my rights as a US citizen. Gun control, loss of freedom of speech, even more handouts to people cause they don't feel like working, the list goes on and on from the Dem side....

My out-of-balance statement is what happens when you have a Dem pres, house, and senate because then nothing from the Rep side gets done and the Dem bills walk on through with no problems because there isn't anyone to stop them..

Bri - " Shit we're all Americans, we're supposed to work together eh?"

Funny you say that.... I'm starting to wonder if we are all Americans or not... Sure doesn't seem like it anymore.

You're reading WAY too much between the lines. I care who is in office and I vote for who I choose. What I do not care about is the party. Never will. There will never be a balance. It is a matter of working for a cause and again, your generalized statements about who is American, kind of make my point on partisian politics that I stated before.

Exactly who do you wonder about being American? Being an American citizen is pretty cut and dry.
