What gives? (alarm question)

Last night a group of punks kicked my truck for no reason other than one of them -or all- were intoxicated, I called the cops and don't know what happen after that. My truck is dented now in two places sadly.
My issue is, Why didn't the alarm sound at all? I was awaken by the loud kicks but the alarm never got triggered. Interestingly enough, a few months ago, for two consecutive nights the alarm got triggered by a little moth inside the cabin.
Do these trucks have any motion sensors for the outside?

Dont think so. Alarm is more for keeping anyone from getting in the truck and stealing it. Mine has only gone off once when some punk tried to steal my spare tire. He all three lugs off and as soon as he moved the tire the alram went off. When I got outside the tire was still on the truck, lugs on the ground.
Try adding VIPER...I'm no expert though

I'm only aware of the alarm sounding when the vehicle doors are opened after the alarm has been armed and the vehicle is off. I have to agree, the Viper alarm is effective.

My alarm goes off when the truck window is down or cracked open.
Both sunroof windows can be completely open and no alarm. Go figure.
