BIG WHEEL ROVN IN KNOXVEGAS TN.
It is a module used by land rover to brain wash owners into thinking that there trucks would last forever and not cost them there left arm. But it eventually became obsolete after the camel trophies expeditions and sealed the deal with the videos. Too bad that shit doesnt work for the new ones

Stew, Googling any of the numbers on it was a dead end. Now that I think of it, I’m pretty sure it was for the PO’s phone. When I bought it way back when there was a phone mount on the hump and I think one of the cables ran to it. I think the other one runs up the A-Pillar to the cute little antenna that was cut into my roof. That little darling sprung a leak and filled my sunroof ECU with water, and opened both of them while driving in a monsoon :eek:27EF629E-AC82-4494-AE48-461738A5EFF7.jpeg27EF629E-AC82-4494-AE48-461738A5EFF7.jpeg

May be this is a GPS/GPRS tracking unit. Try to get a complete image from label. And check it has to have +- power cables and two different antennas, one of them usually hidden in the A-pillar. I'm used to see Lo jack VLU-5 and -7 models, and i know there is a new VLU-8. May be this is this last model.
Regards

This is the label. Google did t come up with anything, but maybe you’ll have better luck. I’m curious to know. It was installed sometime prior to ‘03.

That is an old in car phone amplifier probably a Motorola or even a NEC last time I installed one was back in 1990. Totally useless now it was used to boost the signal from 3 or 6 watts. Cool paper weight.

It's a tracker. Got any crazed ex-girlfriends who were good with electronics? lol
Those trackers are about half the size of an I phone now. More than once I've had FBI or other branches in the shop asking where to stick them when the car is aluminum and it's mounted with a strong magnet.

When I purchased my D1 it still had one of those old mounts for the handset and wires running to the cargo area. That kinda put the age of the D1 in perspective. I was at Goodwill (My wife is a true bargain addict) a while back and we spotted an old bag phone. My 9 year old son called it a purse phone. While my wife shops we look around for “interesting“ stuff.
