What is your idea of the perfect trail?????

I've been having this discussion lately...

"To you, What is the perfect trail?"

I like Medium to hard technical trails that go to a location (mine, ghost town, etc.) or scenic area. In the summer time I like a long trail so I can camp in the middle. I like rocks, ledges, water crossings, and climbs. I don't like mud. I'm not a death wheeler, and I enjoy the fellowship part of wheeling with other rigs. (rover, jeep, yota, etc.)

lets hear some opinions...

...rounded, tight-fitting, nicely-shaped, proportional to the overall curveature....great in a thon....

oh...TRAIL not TAIL!

For me, the perfect trail is one that offers enough challenges yet has multiple lines available to get through it. Not one, tried and rutted method, yet one that allows you to use your technical knowledge to learn something from it and move to the next one...yeah, I'm being broad-minded :)

In terms of pure wheeling, those 3 strung together are pretty hard to beat.

Now I seem to prefer getting out where its a little more relaxed and quiet. When I first got on Poison Spider Mesa right after the waterfall, there were a bunch of hillbillys that snickered at us since we were driving Land Rovers and they weren't. Not that I really give 2 shits about those meatheads, but it sure does bring a trail down from being perfect.

You should have snickered back because they only had 4 teeth combined in the whole bunch.

My perfect trail is something close to home so I can go on a whim after work for an hour or two, one that is easy enough where I don't require having an additional truck along for the ride to assist with recovery cause I'm real unsocial like that, one that has a few moderate sections to keep me interested but not so difficult that I can't just relax and enjoy the ride without constantly watching my line. I'm a lazy offroader and I don't like to get stuck or break stuff. I'm more of a pleasure driver. :)

It's all in choice of time, Mike.
Most good trails will have hillbillies every now and then.
This combination strikes (to me) a perfect balance for not having any weekend warriors in rented SUVs (the PSM waterfall takes care of that) and not too many hard-core rock-crawling buggy types.
