What screw to use on dash mount.

I am planning on mounting a RAM mount on the coin try on the top dash of a DII. I tried some wood screws but they were not deep to pentrate the padded material. I don't want to go too deep on this one, so what have others used to secure items to the soft dash?

I used 1 inch screws to screw a CB radio mount in, it worked fine. They were like these.



It was probably a #8.

I used a combination of super glue and drywall screws similar to the ones pictured above. I use these to mount my Belkin Ipod holder and super glue alone to mount the GPS..the same GPS in the link above. Recently I sold the GPS and mount. It was very difficult to remove. The glue makes a nice bond with the textured dash.
