Getting ready to pull the hubs for new rotors and wheel bearings. What size hub socket do I need? I'm told 2 1/16 inch by a local rover mechanic, but can't find it anywhere. Nearest thing I can find is a 54mm (2 1/8).
I just bought 3 of these. It's comes out to be about $50 with shipping, but it's worth it when you consider what a snapon costs. And it's a 1/2" drive instead of a 3/4".
down side to the snap on socket is it's really long and is 3/4" drive. once you add adapters to use w/ 3/8" or 1/2" ratchets your almost a foot away from the nut. not to mention that it's still not the right size. we used that socket that Steve posted this weekend and it's so nice. yeah a little spendy but most nice tools are .
and it's fewer stuff you'd need to carry in your truck tool bag.
