The first car I ever owned was a green 1970 Chevy Nova. I was 18 and I bought it for $3,000 and owned it for about 15 years. The car I traded it for was carp.

My first ride was your mom. No wait, it was your sister. I traded her in for a fish too.

1956 Chevy "210" 2 door sedan. Black/black & white. Had a 283, 4 speed and posi rear. I was 12 years old. LOL Really. Cleaned it up a little, did a valve job and some misc stuff to it - sold for a nice profit and bought the next car ---->

Next was a 1957 Willys Jeep 4x4 "ton" pickup. Super Hurican 6 cyl, 3 speed 55 mph goodness. I was 14, did some work on it over a year or so and when I was 15 and got my license it was my "first car".

The list goes on and on.... last I counted I was over 65-70? or so cars/trucks.

Had an 88 Honda Prelude for about 2 days that I paid 800 bux for and then found out that the PO had put sawdust in the transmission to stop is slipping long enough to sell. Raised hell and got half my money back after I was on my way back and the timing belt snapped on the highway. Ugh.

After that, it was a 78 VW Type II, with a pop-top camper conversion (not a Westie, a different company), and it was just a thing of beauty. Years of solid reliability and fun times. Took that beast places I've seen dudes with 4x4s fear to tread. Then a 72 VW Type III (Squareback), bright orange, and zippy - could do 80 anytime I pleased. Following that was the Bronco, the Tiburon, then my Yamaha motorcycle, then the Disco.

1972 Volvo Station Wagon.

The engine once broke loose from it's mounts and slammed into the radiator while running: Sparks and fire and coolant went flying in an arch into the night sky. It was spectacular.

One of the pistons went grenade on me at about 245k miles, so I sold the car for $25... which is $23.50 more than what I bought it for.

landrovered: look at the second post............
