Apologies for the threadjack, but does anyone know if expirations on pharmaceuticals indicate it going inert, or are they just sort of a "liability scam" to make you buy more medicine?

For shits & giggles, I opened one package up and plop plopped them into water. They didn't fizz fizz.

Some antibiotics may actually go "bad" and become dangerous. Most other things might just get a little weaker, and some stuff works just fine forever.

I'm not a doctor or a medical professional of any sort, so no warranty provided with this advice. If you die, I'm not supporting your family.
