also what is exactly involved? is this something i can do myself? i ve done my disco shocks and springs a couple of times...is more involved than that? help would be much appreciated...thanks

It's just as easy. You need 4 springs of course, and 4 springs seats. That's the minumum you can get away with. Should be around $300.

You may need some bolts too. In case you don't have any lying around, I think the stock are 10mm x 40mm long, nuts and washers.

on another post someone mentioned that i will need to pull a four prong plug from a box to diconnect the compressor...and avoid any dash lights coming on. what is this exactly?

and thanks much for the replies

I was thinking about the next-gen RRs. Just unplug the EAS computer & its relay to kill the lights & compressor.

The ecu is under the pass seat. Unplug the big connector.

The warning light relay is next to it, I think it was blue but I cant recall. There are about 4 relays in a row, its one of them. Just unplug it as well.

Done!

I did the EAS to coil conversion on my 95 LWB. It's a time consuming but relatively easy job. I'd change the shocks at the same time.

If your compressor is in good shape, you can jumper out two pins and then use it like a normal compressor for tire inflation, lockers, etc.. By getting creative with the pins, you can then use one of the EAS buttons to activate the compressor as needed. You'll need to install a couple of couplers for connecting hoses for inflation. Can't recall the pin numbers on the EAS ecu, maybe someone else can chime in. If you're planning on using it for tire inflation, you'll want to run for a bit, then cool for a few mintures in order to extend the life of the compressor.
