Man, if you think that thing's worth something south of $7k, keep it and buy the D90!

I drive the Disco when the roads are crap and leave the 90 in the garage!

Besides, you can one set of maintenance parts and use them on either vehicle. Oh, and that Disco is just getting broken in, mine's at 143k miles and just came back from Moab ... wheeee! ;)

why do you want a Defender?

Everyone wants one until they drive one. It is one of the worst daily drivers expecially considering 10 plus years on the road. They make a great third car. :)

it doesnt make a bad daily driver, just will make you tired on a road trip. I have 0 gripes about mine other than the usual Rover complaints. i think the seats could be a little better. trust me keep the Disco and dont chop it. if you want a rag-top get a TR6. Defenders are fun and all but everytime i get in a Disco I or drive the bosses RRC i always say to myself dumass..... LWB RRC with an LT230, Disco II cup holders ,the 4.2, armor and mud grips pref in the 32" range would be heaven for a little less money

Shoot... I just did 13 hours each way in this thing. It's smooth but still somewhat of a chore.

I may not even end up with a 90 though. That G4 a few threads down got me thinking.

Every time I drive the old Disco west, I swear it goes over the rockies better. We took the 90 to NM /Grand Canyon / SoCal and back once .. not comfortable, hated stopping almost twice as often for fuel too!

The 90 is kinda fun around town though :)

There is some rust at the top of the rear wheel arches, but has not gone through the seam, and a some surface rust at the very bottom of the b pillars where the paint has flaked off IIRRC. Should have some pics if I can get good light tonight or tomorrow sometime.

Where in particular on the jambs do you want me to get pics?

Ok. Here's the rust pics. I made a mistake and the b pillars have no rust I can see. It was the bottom of the c pillars I was thinking of. And I noticed something at the very bottom of the passenger side front after I got these pics onto the computer. I can't picture it being any worse that the surfrace rust on the bottom of the c pillars. I dont remember anything serious catching my eye on this thing. Will investigate tomorrow.

The last pic is w/o the winch and bumper. I can do $5500 like that or 5K w/ stock alloys.

I saw that it wasn't listed on eBay anymore. Did it sell? How much did you get for it?

On deposit @ 6,700 locally. Not bad I suppose and it allows me to move on. To another Rover, of course.

Actually, I never heard back from the kid. I hate selling shit.

I have a d90 for a DD and now a 1988 RRC for a trail truck, the d90 is not practical at all. I thought i would love driving one, but it's gotten old even though i do get alot of Q's about it and stares. I've been thinkin about selling it and buy a dodge CTD, use left over cash on the 88 RRC and build it up
