It's clearly a matter of taste, but the range of styles for stock rims all look pretty good and are well proportioned to the truck. Money spent on wheel adapters and aftermarket rims could also be spent on maintenance. There is only one person on this board whose Discovery needs absolutely nothing done to it.

Who's that?

I'm thinking of Kennith. I recall seeing a picture of his engine compartment - well, at least he said it was his engine compartment - and wondering how much time and energy he had invested getting it into that shape. I don't know how much he drives his Disco but if the pictures were indicative of the rest of the truck I imagine it's in much better condition than mine is. And mine is in pretty nice shape. I don't doubt that Kennith would say his truck needs X more things done to it.

There may be some truth to the saying that your truck is never done, you just stop working on it.

What are your guys thoughts on wheel adapters to put aftermarket rims on 2001 land rover discovery 2?

Do you own a pitbull, rockstar clothing, and flat bill hat?

When I see a vehicle with aftermarket wheels I just wonder what the fuck is wrong with them. The worst are are lifted trucks with XD pointy texas steers 'n queers star wheels.

'Better' is only one man's opinion. I'm in the general pool that likes the stock look. There are 'some' aftermarket wheels that might be appealing but that falls back to my original statement. It's your truck. Do as you see fit.

If you post a pic of the wheels you want maybe we'll give you some leads on adapters. I see a Craigslist ad titled "4 Sale supreme baller edition Range Rover Discovery 22" rims peanut butter leather" in your not distant future when the dash turns into a christmas tree and the headgaskets blow

Wheel adapters increase the chances of a wheel falling off which may be a good thing depending on how ugly the wheel is.

Combined with wheels of unknown backspacing they may widen the track too much.

However, D2 wheels already come a variety of styles from baller, to rugged, to race without changing lug patterns. They just don't come in chrome because it makes you and every other Rover owner look retarded.

FYI, D2 wheel bolt pattern is 5x120, which is the same as many BMW's including X5's. I ran some ridiculous 20"/low-pro setup off my mom's old X5 for a few days after I tore two sidewalls in an afternoon. It served to reaffirm that the Discovery had the most appropriate wheel selection from the factory.

The 17" X5 wheels might not look bad. I've only seen photos of a D2 with BMW 3 series wheels and it looked awful
