That's cool. Looked like a Ramsey or Konig on there.

I like the helmets and Tread Lightly attitude-lol.

Those were some pretty cool pickups for 1957!
Nice video.
I didn't notice a winch at the beginning but it was there when they reached the top...

Nice find!

Wondering the size of those tires, looked like a pretty skinny 35".

I've been wheeling since 1963 when my dad got a flatfender 46 Willys Jeep. Back then no one gave a shit where you went or what you did. I've been in places that if you drove there now you'd have half the forest service after you. Deal back then was there weren't enough people off-roading to where they caused enough damage to where it was a problem.

17.5" wheels I think. I noticed they used swivel balls rather than open u-joint fronts. Probably a Ramsey winch, I don't think Koenig made a planetary gear winch.

Baja'ing over alpine meadows. Classy.
Did you ever see the roosters of dirt from their wheels in that video?

Nothing wrong with driving over the meadows. It's when all morons show up and start spinning donuts in things go downhill fast.

Not so. Driving, even walking, over fragile alpine soils can kill the lichens that live on them, destabilizing the soil.

Anyway, Pikes Peak went to hell decades ago so there's not much point in arguing.

where did those mountaineers "come down" from, why were there twenty mountaineers in matching clothes up on pike's peak.

They came down from Mt Chevrolet to add weight to the light back end so it would dig in. Don't you know anything Bill?
