Anybody have any cheap ways of shipping wheels with tires. Maybe remove the tires and ship the tires via UPS ground and pallate the wheels for freight? I've done a search and can't find anything substantial. I know some have done this so any good options?

just ship each wheel/tire with the address taped (very well) to them. I bought wheel/tires mounted long ago and thats how they came ups. 3 came one day, 1 showed up the next.

x2. Put a piece of cardboard on either side of the wheel with the tire still mounted, wrap well with tape, and affix the label to one of the pieces of cardboard.

The tire may need to be remounted on the wheel after shipping, but with the cardboard still taped to the tire, the wheel won't be able to work itself completely free.

Expect around $30 bucks per wheel/tire with UPS ground.

Forward Air, from Huntsville, Al. to San Francisco, pallatized, I was quoted $183 @ 275lbs. Sound decent? Now 275 is a rough questimate, 5 wheels @ 55 total which may be a little low.
