i agree on the point that the V8 LR3 is unmatched to its trans, but it doesnt make sense. the same motor and the same gearbox are in the sport, and that thing takes off with authority. its like night and day compared to the LR3. i think LR needs to do some ecu work on the LR3. it feels like shit and its dangerous. you ever try to cross 3 lanes of fast moving traffic in a V8 and you stab the throttle and get NO response for almost an entire second? might not sound like much, but that lone second lag can be enough to get somebody killed.

you're absolutely correct. i have almost been creamed driving one, and i got some good advice (thanks ho). like i said, it's adaptive. as an experiment i started accelerating more quickly from a dead stop, every time. lo and behold, it's snappier off the line now, go figure.

other than that, if i absolutely want to make sure the power is there, i just slap it over into command shift...takes one second.
