Hey guys after finishing the motor build this girl is running like a champ....still stuck with that P1314....but after eliminating the stuck valve question I know it def has to be O2's so thanks for all the help.... Now onto the Question

Right now my 97 DI has I believe a 2" OME lift but because of the ARB Bull Bar and Rear trail bumber She has to be sagging so it's probally like 1.5"...... I am going to put on a 2" RTE body lift so I was wondering if I could clear the 285-75-16.... Or should I not only do the body lift but "redo" the susp. with like RTE 2.5" I just really dont want to change the geometry angles too much. And with the 285-75-16 has anyone ever run the Procomp X-Terrain and feedback????

Thanks,
Ramrod

I say the combo that works for me.

is what I run.

RTE 3" with 33x10.50's. That's a good look on a Rover.

Alot of us run Rovertym suspension in both 2 and 3" lifts

good feed back chap....... lol juss playing but I guess I can run the 265-75-16 but my only concern is water.... Im a florida boy so any spots to wheel right now are about door handle deep in water so you guys think the 265's will work out???? Cause I should be able to fit those with out the body lift

And in a 265-75-16 What have you guys had the most success with.... This is also my daily driver for now so I dont want to run super swampers.... And there is alot of mud in florida so im just worried the BFG KO2's will fill up too quickly

I'm with Chap on this one, forget the body lift. As for tires rubbing, if your willing to get wheels with less offset, this shouldn't be a concern. But what about the axle gears, driveline strenght and brakes ???

well thats why im saying I dont think 265's would be that dramatic of a diffrence... I def want to go with 4.11 eventually but when I can afford a trutrac with the front and a detroit for the rear

Does Goodyear make the Wrangler MTR in a 265-75-16

I used to run the MTR's down there in Tampa and they sucked big time. On road and off road. I couldn't wait to get them off my truck.

I've got almost 3" of lift and I'm running the 265's now. I did lose a good deal of turning radius, but it really only bothers me when I'm trying to squeeze around the corner at the drive-thru. On the tightly wooded trails down there I found that the turning radius I lost didn't really hurt my offroading capabilities...but then again, I was always careful and picked my line knowing my limits with the effects of the bigger tires on stock rims.

Leave the ProComp's for the Jeepers. :) You will find the BFG MT's will suit you really well there. The ole Rangie with BFG's Detroit/TruTrac did great through the swamps and the forest and wasn't too harsh on road.

From one Florida guy to another. Get the 33's and get a real mud terrain.
You are exactly right. The mud is thick and very deep here and you will need as much height as you can not to high-center.

If it is your DD: Firestone destination M/T, Super Swamper SSR

If it is a trail rig only: well there are plenty of extreme M/T's for that...

this is funny stuff...285 75 16 super swampers as DD tires:rofl:

I happen to run that tire on mine, new they are 34" tall.

I have a rovertym 5" lift with bilsteins, rovertym arms fron and rear, caster corrected swivels. custom tom woods shafts front and rear, extended brake lines and a raised panhard.

all to make that size tire work correctly.

anything less the truck would have issues off road.

there is not a cheap easy combo to run a 33"-34" tire "correctly"

All he wants to do is play in the mud. Not crawl over 3' boulders... He doesn't need flex and all the extra parts. Just height and big tires..

(Just realized he has a D1. Not to sure what those need to run 33s, so he May need all the extra gear.. On my DII though it isn't too big of a deal.)

And you are right, the 285 SSR does measure to be a 34. But you can get the 32x11.5 which measures near a 33.

Plus, there are no rocks down here, so no chance of losing a lug.

I beg to differ. I've lost a good chunk of a few lugs on cypress knees and oak tree roots.
