My 33x10.5 swampers make me feel too top heavy. im looking for a way to get a wider stance. the tires are pretty new and great so i dotn watn anything wider. They are on stock 16" LR wheels. DOes anyone use wheer spacers? or should i switch to steelies in a 5x4.75 bolt pattern with more less offset?

I did the same. I went with the trekoutfitters steel wheels with 4.25" backspacing.

I'm running steel wheels with less backspace on 33 BFG MT's. I love the feel of the wider stance, better corning, better turning radius. The only draw back is that they come out more and you may need to do some more cutting, upper rear panels.

i have the scorpion wheel spacers from 4x4ag. i'm still on the fence on them. i run the 34x10.5 ltb on the disco spare steelie. i love the wider stance i get and i know the wheels are tough as hell. i have only driven on the spacers maybe a total of 30 miles so far. i was told the spacers would need a retighten after an initial run in, but after maybe 20 miles of driving i was retightening. haven't had to retighten since then, but considering you have to pull the wheel off to do it, really not a big fan of that. also, they of course move the wheel out along the hub, so now i can't undo the hub bolts and remove an axle with the wheels on the ground because a socket won't fit around the bolts with the wheel in place. not a terrible thing, but a slight inconvenience that was a nice benefit to the open flange steel wheels.

All I have to say is that with 33s we are already putting lots of stress on the stock rover axles and CVs which are none too strong to begin with. I can't believe that putting spacers is a good idea unless you have the money in the bank waiting to do some serious repair the next time you really flog it on the trail. If you like to crawl the malls it probably wouldn't pose a problem (I doubt this is the case).

I'd search because I believe something like this has been posted in the past.

DII bolt pattern is 5x120.

Thank capt obvious. (JK). 5x120 = 5x4.7244in. close enough to 4.75 for me for a set of offroad only wheels

I ran the wheel spacers for over a year before switching to steelies. They worked great, never caused any damage to anything, and the tires still stuffed w/o rubbing. I've since purchased steelies, and I'm rubbing all over the place with 265/75s and a 3" RTE lift. Go with the spacers. They work great, provide the wider track, balance great, and don't cause any of the side-effects of steelies.

I'm 84" outside of tire to outside of tire on the Disco and I'm loving it...on the D90, I have the stock Alloys with 1.25" spacers...

Agree the spacers will change the forces on the hubs, etc. But these forces will be no different than using a set of aftermarket wheels with an offset that puts your tires in the same place the spacers do. Assuming the spacers are well made, the only differences between spacers and wheels with an offset that matches spacers is that you have 5 additional lugs to worry about on each wheel and you may have to pull the spacers to get an axle out.

I run 1" spacers on my DI but do not have enough miles on them to comment on longevity. But if folks do OK with lots of miles on wheels that are offest another 1" you can pretty much compare the longevity of that setup with a 1" spacer setup.
