Will D2 Seats be a direct fit in a 99 D1?

I have the chance to pick up a great looking set of front seats off a 03 D2 and want to know if anyone has tried to swap out the seats into a D1 before? Any issues with bolting it up? Wiring issues? Seat heater issues? I'd really love to have the arm rests and a working lumbar support!

Thanks!

Don't know about whether they'll fit or not, but I'd love to be rid of those arm rests...IMO, they're a PITA. The seat heater setup is pretty straight forward, so I'd be surprised if that there were any issues with it working.

the mounting brackets are completely different.
they may be workable by removing the d2 brackets and just mounting the seat to your brackets, but at first glance it does not look like it.
this is just from a glance at a co-workers d2.

A cut-off wheel and a welder would be helpful. They are not a bolt-in swap. I think it's been done and documented on Dweb. Try using the search tool :)

Thanks a lot for the input guys! I was hoping it would be a simple "bolt-in" deal. Don't have a welder or cutoff wheel. :( I'll keep my eye's open for a RRC and see if the seats are in good condition. I hear that the back seats from the RRC will also fit as well?

RRC seats are a direct fit in the rear but not a direct fit in the front. I had to modify the base to accept the RRC seats in my 95 Disco. The difference in comfort between the two was like night and day.

That is very true.
D1 seats are a POS, although the later ones seem to be a bit better.

I am happy to report that no bracket modification is necessary to install Classic seats in a 96 D1.
Damn these seats are nice...

Brackets are different on '94-'95 DI's. Later DI's will accommodate RRC seats easily as Peter stated.
