Took a short drive today and low and behold the wind screen decided to crack. Looks to be about 6" and growing.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Got the new wind screen in today. Took about 4 hours counting the hour drive to and from.

I got it from safelite and they installed it in a bit over 2 hours. It is heated and tinted and the total was $480.00.

I think the p-side pillar trim may be fucked up but I can't be sure. I guess I'll wait for the rain and see if it sealed right.

Make sure all of the elements work. Safelite did the D2 a while back and not all of mine do. It's not a big deal and it was months later when I discovered it so I just let it go.

For a heated windscreen , isn't that Dirt Cheap ? Is that installed ? Is that what you paid, and insurance covered the rest ? Tell me more, I've had a crack practically all the way across my heated windshield for years. I did not want to turn into insurance because I've had 2 claims on truck already. Hell, for that I'd save my pennies. A working heated windshield is the shit. Let us know after it rains too.

That was total price installed. They started out at $567.00. They knocked it down to $500.00 if I brought it to their shop. The guy said he wanted to do it in the shop so he could have help from the master tech. They then knocked off $20.00 because it took 2 hours to install it instead of 1.

My insurance deductable would have cost me $500.00. The local glass place wanted $865.00 if I paid and even more if I used my insurance.

It is NOT Pilkinton glass. The logo appears to be FY Solar tint.
