Replacing all of the regulators in my 1997 disco 1, as I bought it with none working..

Started with the driver. You were able to hear the motor but the window never moved. Took it apart, and the regulator seemed fine?
Replaced the regulator with a new one, and the same thing happens. You can hear the motor working but it doesn’t catch the teeth? Operating the motor by itself you can see the teeth move. What is the issue here?

Gears inside the motor are stripped.. Happened to mine.. Turns the gear but not under load..

Tossed in a 30$ amazon China made motor.. Still works year later, almost same speed as old OEM.. Sounds Chinese spinning though!

Also instead of new Regulators, theres an Ebay seller that sells METAL wheels to rebuild them with..

Windows I've done with metal wheels (rear) have never failed.. Also good to clean and lubricate the tracks, so motors don't strip..

Most likely a wheel was coming off, locked up, and OEM motor ripped its gears inside.. Clean tracks and motors last a long time..
