My passenger window just stopped working. It is making a sound but no movement. Any of you geniuses got any idea what it is? Off track or regulator?

If you heard a snap/pop sound immediately before malfunction, it is probably the regulator. Sound is a good sign - your electrical connections and motor are working.

Regulator. There are a few writeups around the web on how to replace the cracked plastic roller with some steel washers

it's one of a couple of things...but it sounds like the cheap nylon wheels on the regulator have broken. It's not a terrible fix to do by yourself, and you should be able to do it with some washers from home depot and a few beers

I just ran into this issue and thanks to ShiftinontheFly he hooked me up with a new regulator and motor.

When I took mine apart I found that the plastic wheel bushing had broke. The one I was going to swap into my D1 did not have this bushing anymore but had a nut with a washer attached to it in its place. A bolt was holding it onto the regulator arm. This works perfect and does not make any noise or run the risk of snapping off. I would suggest this if your handy and have a decent hardware store around you.

Here's a link to a picture of what Im talking about

So I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, there are threads on the piece for the wheel?

no, picture it like a pine wood derby car wheel. All you're going to do is take out the regulator (taking it out and putting it back in are the hardest parts) Then you replace the busted white nylon wheel with something that wont break. I have used a couple of washers from Home depot and a screw for a new axle, I know of some guys who have totally splurged and drilled holes in quarters. Then put it back in.
just pay attention when you are taking it out to where the bolts go, and you'll put them all back in the same spots.

I just used some nylon washers. It took 2 for the right thickness. They where a little to big to start with but a grinding well made flat sides on them real fast. Then just popped them over the shaft.
