Anybody found an aftermarket windshield wiper blade? I need to replace both front and the back, I just hate paying more then $10 for a wiper blade.

Rain-X Latitude work great on my RRS (22" front, not sure if the LR3 has the same size. I never replaced the rear blade.) They cost about $20/each, but Pep Boys often has a 2-for-1 coupon on their fliers for them.

I got some Silblades from EE that are working for me, nice & quiet - $22. I've had them about a year maybe, if they last a long time they're worth the money, but time will tell :)

OK, the best price I found was for Michelin Optimum at Target for $13.99 ea. and when you buy two you get a $10 Target gift card.

There maybe better wipers blades out there but I just need the cheapest, because around here they get dry rotted or melt.

I use them when traveling, but where I live I have only seen it rain enough to need wipers once in the last 7 years.

What's the trick to getting the wiper arms to fold back?

Every time I wash the windshield, I always lift the wiper, only to find it won't fold back???

WTF?

They don't fold back way out like the disco's do.

It's annoying as hell.

I fitted a Bosch Ion from Advance for about $20. My driver's side tends to thump as the blade changes direction, and the Ion is slightly better. I tried repositioning the arm-it wasn't loose on the pivot, swapping the RH and LH blades, and then fitted an 18" Genuine with the wing on it from my RRC- that was quiet.
The dealer says its the wiper arm, and they'll replace it.
I wonder if the RH and LH arms are the same?

They are different. The dealer will likely look into this bulletin.

? Bent arm-pieces to modify the attack angle.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
NOTE: GLOBAL TECHNICAL REFERENCE (GTR) LOOKUP SEQUENCE IS AS FOLLOWS:
? GTR Home > NAS > Model > Service Information > Model Year > Section: 84.15.02 ? Wipers and Washers.
OR
? GTR Home > NAS > Model > Service Information > Model Year > Section: 501-16 ? Wipers and Washers.
1. Remove the windshield wiper arm.
NOTE: Use the illustrations below for comparison purposes.
2. Visually inspect the windshield wiper arms and spindles.
? Figure 1 is an example of a wiper arm which has been under-tightened. The arm has loosened and the splines of the spindle have worn away the material of the arm.
? Figure 2 is an example of a spindle with a build-up of material from the wiper arm. This material should be cleared using a wire brush.
? Figure 3 is an example of a wiper arm which has been misaligned on installation. The arm has worn in one area. The resultant wiper performance is affected by the incorrect angle of 'attack' of the blade on the glass, causing a poor wipe, noise and/or judder.
3. If any of the above conditions are found, the other wiper arm head should also be inspected for the same symptoms.
4. Any wiper arms showing evidence of the above conditions should be replaced.
NOTE: Land Rover Special Tool LRT-84-100 must be used when installing the windshield wiper arms on Range Rover (LM) models.
NOTE: GLOBAL TECHNICAL REFERENCE (GTR) LOOKUP SEQUENCE IS AS FOLLOWS:
? GTR Home > NAS > Model > Service Information > Model Year > Section: 84.15.02 ? Wipers and Washers.
OR
? GTR Home > NAS > Model > Service Information > Model Year > Section: 501-16 ? Wipers and Washers.
5. Install the wiper arms.
6. Tighten the nut to the correct torque for the vehicle:
? Freelander (LN) 18 Nm (13.2 lbf ft).
? LR2 (LF) 25 Nm (18.4 lbf ft).
? LR3 (LA) 18 Nm (13.2 lbf ft).
? Range Rover (LM) 34 Nm (25 lbf ft).
? Range Rover Sport (LS) 18 Nm (13.2 lbf ft).
