I spoke to Skip at Gulches....He wants to make this a Land Rover weekend. All Land Rovers that show up Feb. 9th-11th get camping and wheeling with unlimited riders for $20. THATS FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND!! He said we have to pay a $20 deposit of the camp sites. He will have camping for 50+ trucks. I hope to see you guys there!!

I've got 7 trucks going with me. we are heading up around 2:30 on Friday.

I'd like to meet up with you guys when you come through Cola if that's ok. I'm only 1/2 mile from I-26. right where it intersect I-20. From my house I usually get to Laurens in about an hour and fifteen minutes and to the Gulches parking lot in an hour and a half even. Gas in Laurens is usually about 10-15 cents a gallon less than here in Columbia as an FYI.

Skip usually has good grilled hot dogs at 1:00-2:00pm as well as chips/soda/water. But otherwise you'd have to go into Laurens for food.

Smart ass - yeah so it's been 2 1/2 years since I've taken that thing out. I'm going back to Delaware this week to drive it down here. I'm ready to start working on it again. First thing is a better lift.

My brother just got some expense ass software for a pipe bending machine so the next major project is a DOM cage. After seeing all the heavy duty cages up at Gulches, I got motivated to try one on my own. Who knows how long it will take his ass to get around to helping me build it. I got the idea when I saw the Google video of the Taiwan LR club. The video is about a half hour but one of the DI's has an interesting front fender protector made from tubing. I don't like how it attaches to the truck but it was enough to get me thinking about it.

Rick,
If you get a chance, shoot me an email and let me know what time you guys expect to get to Columbia and I'll send you my cell number so you can call me when you get close. How many that are coming with you have been to Gulches already?

Detroit is in, therefore, I'll be at Gultches.

Although I think I'm going to drive down Saturday morning rather than camp out.

It looks like we are going to have a good turn out. Does anyone know how the weather as held up there?
Clemson had snow on Thursday morning, rain all day, and has been overcast since then. I can only imagine it being the same in Laurens, so it will be far from dry.

I'm guessing you saw my post on US Jeeps :D That place sucked Saturday. Lets see... broke a driver's side front axle, ripped the passenger side mirror, multiple dents in the passenger side front fender, caved in the front part of the passenger front door, fish hooked the right front tire and ripped the body armor off, driver's front ball joints started separating, rear liftgate bezel broken, and multiple scratches... I think that's about it. Managed to swap out the shaft and the ball joints worked themselves back into place.

This is how the day started. The two driver's side tires came off the ground when I slid into this hole...

i'm still coming if theres a decent expected turnout, i can always turn around or simply take it easy when i get there if its too wet to do anything without denting/crushing/smashing. i can defiently see why it was too wet this past weekend though. maybe it will dry out
