Wiring 2nd battery RRC

Seeing that I have not seen or found a way to install a second battery in a 95 RRC, I have an idea of putting it in the rear of the truck. But I am wondering how to wire it up. I can run 0 gauge wire back there, but my limited knowledge of wiring tells me that it may not be enough to handle the amperage of the alternator. And they don't sell regular battery cable in 15' lengths!

Any ideas?

Range Rover Classic already has a second battery tray on the driver's side in front of the air cleaner trumpet.
Just cut the trumpet off.

I know the 95 has a different air cleaner box, but I'm sure the tray is still there.

The tray is there, but I don't think it's big enough to accommodate the obscenely large Sears Platinum battery that will be going there. I remember measuring it before, but I will double-check. I think it was the height that was the problem.

So there is no downsides to removing the trumpet? To be honest, I never considered it before, but if air is air, who cares how it gets sucked into the air filter, right?

This job is a little easier on '94 and older, but should be ok for '95.
Mine has a snorkel so my trumpet thing was already cut down. I think you have more height there than it looks.

Note; Sorry I don't know why I can not link my pictures, so please click on the URL

Easy, in my truck I relocate the tube to the right hand side of the box.http://patineto.smugmug.com/photos/493734051_ZPaSC-L.jpg

Yes you need to relocate a few things, but is not a big deal, for example, the fluid tank for the steering pump.

So far I have not finish the instalation since a "control system" is require for the installion and i still need to get around saving the money to purchase the parts and/or the whole complete kid already made.

Very nice.

Did you use the existing bracket for the PS reservoir? And where do you plan on placing the coil and related bits?

Will you mount a tray, and if so what kind?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm very interested in a second battery. Great pics. I'm a bit of a weenie when it comes to forging new trail, and like to see what others have done ... successfully.
