Wont start has fuel no fire/ FIXED

My 99 D2 was running fine then parked it this weekend went to crank and no start. I has fuel but checked the no. 1 plug on the driver side and no fire. So far I have installed a new battery, Crank sensor, swapped relays, checked fuses, and swapped the underhood fuse panel. I have an interior fuse panel from a 04 (got it in a box of spare parts that I bought) will it work on my 99 D2? Anyway Im doing head gaskets on my 01 RR SE tomorrow but as soon as I bang that out Ill jump on my disco. It will probably be full of water tomorrow because both roofs leak and I couldn't get it in the shop because of the RR.

Sounds like the classic crank position sensor failure. Mine did it overnight as well. Weird, but it was an easy fix, after being frustrated for a day or two. Oops, re-reread your post, never mind....Still it does sound like a CPK

Getting back on it today after just finishing installing a new valley pan gasket, STI plug wires and Audi a6 mod on my P38. And yes I have fuel no fire on the disco, Ive already replaced the CKP and underhood fuse box, Im thinking its the IDM (inside fuse box), I noticed the last time I tried to lock unlock the door that the red alarm light would flicker for about 5 sec then it would go out and the light would start blinking like it is armed, It use to toot the horn and flash the marker lights when I locked it but not any more, it just started that. Hope it hasn't lost its sync. Im thinking its the inside fuse box because of rust on the dash frame surrounding the fuse box and my disco leaks like crap.
Not if he has fuel....

OK now Im a bit stumped, I played around with the fuse box, pulled it out looked at the contacts on the back and plugged it back up looked good still no start, but I had fire to a couple of plugs intermittently, climbed on the engine played with the coil and now all cyl are firing (although they seem weak) and Ive got plenty of fuel squirting from the shrader. But the truck still wont start. Any guesses on what to check?

Re: Wont start has fuel no fire/FOUND PROBLEM

Got up this morning determined to get my old hunting rig running, I checked my compression and its at 178psi on cyl no 1. so Im thinking timing should be good, I then did the 1515 EKA proceedure and still no dice, rechecked the wires to the coil and ckp. But it looks like its my inside fuse box. I ran a jumper from fuse 23 (starter motor) to fuse 14??? anyway its the 4th fuse from the bottom in the first row, I think that's the coil fuse. Anyway turned it over and it fired up, but the starter motor also continues to crank so I shut it off really quick. Anyway I found that test somewhere and it works, I had tried this last week but I miscounted the the fuse because the spare fuse is directly in line with the working fuses and I was one fuse off. I realized my mistake today when I just happen to notice there were too many 15A fuses in the row.
Now its off to ebay unless someone here has a smoking deal on a good 99-02 fuse box, damn I wish the 03-04 box I have would work, anybody want to swap????

$35 ebay fuse panel solved my problem, it runs sweet as a nut (always wanted to say that with a british accent) I now also have daytime running lamps, guess I got a fuse panel from a Canadian model. happy happy happy:D
