I'll start, took the head off my Series after getting super low compression in 3 & 4. The e-bay flipper I bought it from did a valve job before selling it, fucker re-installed a blown head gasket! Pics show it folded up in itself between 3 & 4 AND a folded up bolt hole! He also failed to lap the valves, all were leaking.

Why do you say he took it off? Valve job on a series means adjusting the valves, not a valve job on a disco -- ie cleaning them.

He replaced the valves once he discovered there was one burnt valve, and advertised it as "new valves".

To me adjusting the valves is just that, valve cover off and checking/adjusting lash.

A valve job is pulling the head and checking for wear on the guides
cleaning and re-seating the valves. At least thats the way I understand it, all this being quite new to me.

BTW I sent the pics to the E-bay flipper to let him know he screwed up the job, not really wanting anything from him except maybe an apology. Pretty much said "oh well... thats the chance you take with an old car". Told him that the truck was fine, it was HIS work that was the problem.

but now there is no negative feedback, only positive, so the shoddy work is actually a good thing! Didn't you know?
