Im waiting on my purchase permit (& my CCW application to be processed) It may be another week or two until my purchase permit comes in, but wanted to stick this out and see if anyone was ready to do away with a Glock 19. I would prefer night sights, but it wont be a deal breaker.

Figured I would start this thread, just in case anyone was going to sell one or trade one in at a local gun shop or trade-show, I would like to think I would give you more money, but quite frankly I don't know; I assume guns are like cars were dealers buy them cheap and sell them back somewhat significantly higher. Just let me know what you would like to get for it and maybe we can work something out.

True. That's what I ended up doing. Have you checked with Arringtons? I know the Greensboro store used to handle the exchange for the local PD (pretty sure they still do). Since you are looking for a "used Glock"............

No I haven't and it doesn't have to be used. If I can get a dealer to come down from the way up-marked price then I will buy new. Right now in the "gun" bank I have about $680.00 saved up, but I will buy the gun, night sights (if not already equipped) a handful of rounds, holster (or 2) and that stuff really starts to add up.

Scott,

What holster are you thinking about?

I ask because the one that is right for you depends on your clothing preferences, your build and how much you can spend.

Cheap holsters and belts are a false economy. Carrying full time or even part time is a serious investment in training, wardrobe changes and modifying your behavior so that you avoid confrontations and remain low profile; it is concealed carry, after all.

I had two good CCW mentors when I started carrying in my mid 20's. Their guidance saved me years of bumbling and mistakes with gear.

If you've carried before forgive the sermon. :)

If you have $680, you're almost there. I'm about to buy a glock 27, and $680 would get me almost all of that.

Purchase price from my local gun shop is $535 after taxes, night sights are another hundred or so for a decent set if you look hard enough. I'd say after gun, sights, holster and ammo, I'll be up to $750-$800.

Keep saving and you'll be there.

Yall sound like you're willing to spend way too much money and fwiw a Glock 23 is a great CC.

Cheers,

Mike

I'm only doing it because business is good right now, and I probably won't do it all at once. I would if I wasn't buying a D90 camera in the same week =)

I have lived in NC my entire life, in fact I have lived in Charlotte my entire life.

I think that 480-599 would be a good price for a glock, holster, night-sights and maybe a lockable case. Wouldn't you agree mike?

awww, not fair! I want to play with the D-90!

Just make sure you don't buy it from a moron who thinks that Glocks don't need to be maintained. There are plenty of abused Glocks out there.

Cheers,

Kennith

You dont need a purchase permit to buy a handgun in NC. You just need to know the right people! I like Glock handguns. just purchased a 31. Awesome!

P.S. Every Man needs a "throw down" or two!

No, you only need a purchase permit if you don't want to wait the however many days it is background check period. CCW or purchase permit waives those for you.

Arrington's is good, but if you're willing to make the drive over to Vass, NC then Ed's Gun Shop is the place to shop. He's got an incredible selection and is great to deal with. My grandfather and I have purchased guns from him for as long as I can remember (probably over 20 years now) and he has always helped us find exactly what we want.

He'll be at the Greensboro show this weekend. Might be a great place to check out some used stuff too.

Meh, I only paid $10 more, but I will most certainly keep him in mind next time. Once the CCW comes in its going to be all down hill, AR15 here I come.
